January 21 - District Councillor's Report Post Script
Post script District Cllr Report Jan 2021.
John Coupland Hospital in Gainsborough will make local history this weekend as it becomes the first place to administer a COVID-19 vaccination in West Lindsey - 300 vaccinated on Saturday
The first vaccine appointments have been scheduled for Saturday, January 16 at the hospital, as part of the nationwide rollout of the vaccination programme. It is one of the 21 community vaccination hubs announced across Greater Lincolnshire, and the first in West Lindsey.West Lindsey District Council is urging people to remember that the NHS will make contact with residents when it is their turn to receive a vaccine, reiterating the point that there is no need to contact your local GP.Despite the difficult weather conditions over the last few days, all vaccination centres scheduled to open in Lincolnshire will continue to operate.I understand that people in Market Rasen attend either Lincoln or Louth for their vaccinations.
WLDC Guildhall
Whilst staff are not working in the complex due to Covid but at home, the opportunity was taken to decorate internally since it was opened in January 2008. I was in the Guildhall this week and it was good to see it looking smarter after 12 years.
Lea Fields, Crematoria
CP&R has approved expenditure to landscape the entire site which will bring it to completion as Garden of Remembrance matures.
Lea Fields is a state of the art crematorium that has been welcomed by residents. In order to enhance the offer, a Remembrance Garden that offers a fit for purpose designated strewing area is required. The Remembrance Garden would elevate the reputation and desirability further, ensuring that Lea Fields meets the needs and expectations of the community and residents
The Council has a legal duty under the Cremation Act 1902, The Cremation (England and Wales) Regulations 2008, Disposal of ashes, section 30; any ashes retained by a cremation authority must be decently interred in a burial ground or in part of a crematorium reserved for ashes, or scattered there. The strewing area should be fit for purpose, a place pleasant area within the grounds for grieving visitors.

Where to report potential breaches of Covid Regulations:
We have received a number of reports of potential breaches across the District. For information, should you have any concerns, you can email the team at food.healthandsafety@west-lindsey.gov.uk and each potential breach of regulations will be looked into
Business Grants: We are planning the next set of payments to businesses across West Lindsey and expect that we will exceed £20m paid out to 600 businesses. However the complexity is becoming a concern with 15 different grants being paid out at the moment
Planning Consultation – The Government launched the consultation on 3 December 2020
Census 2021: The Census 2021 is due to take place on March 21st. Our Census Engagement Partner, Robert Parker, is working with the Council to see how best we can promote the Census and encourage maximum participation even in these difficult times.
