Keeping the cemetery a safe place to visit
Hemswell Burial Authority has a duty to carry out regular inspections and safety tests to ensure the cemetery is a safe place for you to visit. Inspections include visual assessment, hand-testing and making detailed records of the results. You will see signs and notices at the cemetery and village notice boards about the work we will be doing. If you tend the grave of a loved one, are responsible for, or have concerns about a memorial in the cemetery, please contact the clerk via clerk@hemswellparishcouncil.org.uk. We know that this can be a sensitive issue, and will work closely with family members to ensure the cemetery remains a peaceful and safe place to visit.
